The thing with first impressions is that most of the time you arent the one that is making it. Let me explain. First impressions are usually formed by the other persons preconceived notions, their background, belief system, or things they may have heard about you. Rarely is a first impression truly formed in the others persons mind by anything that you do or say. Think about that for a moment. brbrFor example, lets say that you and I agree to meet in a coffee shop for the first time. Consciously or unconsciously you will make some immediate judgments about me based on my gender, race, height, build, and age. When I speak you will make more judgments concerning my birth place, education, income level, sexual orientation, etc. Finally, you will decide whether or not you want to associate with me based on YOUR preferences, not mine! Some people choose to see only what the want to see regardless of what is really there.
